CALENDAR MAINTENANCE

Purpose

To enter and amend start dates for each financial period in a specific year

To optionally enter and amend start dates for each tax period in a specific year

To delete calendars no longer required.

To print details of financial and tax calendars.

Calendar Maintenance

Enter the following selections:

Calendar - Enter the name of the calendar you wish to create or select Browse to browse on existing calendars. e.g. Financial

Description - Enter a description for the calendar, up to 20 characters. Select Confirm to enter the period details.

Creating a New Calendar - If you are creating a new calendar, the following fields will be displayed:

Year Enter the year that the calendar is for, e.g. 02.

Period Enter the period number for which you want to enter a start date. If this is the first period in a year, it must be 01. The maximum number of periods allowed is 18. Each successive entry must increase by one. For example, if you entered period 0l followed by 03, you would not be allowed to exit the program.

Start date Enter the date on which this period is to start, in the format DDMMYY or DD/MM/YY. For example, 24/05/02. Start dates must increase as the year progresses, i.e. you cannot have period 02 starting on 01/04/02 and then period 03 starting on 01/02/02.

Select Confirm to accept the details. A table will now be displayed, with your first entry shown. To finish entering details, select Exit To continue to add further details, select F4 and enter the period dates as required. Select Exit to exit the program. If any entries are invalid, you will not be able to leave the program.

Amending a Calendar

Enter the calendar to be amended or select Browse to browse. Select Confirm to view the detail lines. To amend an existing period, use the arrow keys to highlight the required period and then select Confirm. (Use First, Next and F7 to move between pages). You can now amend any of the period details. Select Confirm to accept your amendments or Exit to exit without making any changes.
