We have an intermittent problem with PO Receipts Entry now we have the
concurrency project turned on. Has anyone else reported problems in
this area. Why does Sage Enterprise (by nature a multi-user system)
require a 'concurrency' project?
Specific nature of problem: Receipts Entry records are not being written
to the database but the problem only becomes apparent when the user
fully exits the Receipts Entry module. At this point, an error is
reported (invalid transaction state: cannot disconnect from data
source). Following this error, re-entry into Receipts Entry and
selection of F6 results in the next free receipt number being a number
that has previously been used.

On the more general point, the concurrency project made improvements to the record locking within various transactions, making use of the improved functionality provided by the Relational Databases compared to C-ISAM to reduce possible contention in a multi-user environment and improve performance.

Has a fix been made available for curing the random display order of POs
when enquiring by Supplier?

Ultra Colours & Chemicals

As of 8/11/2002, we still cannot print reports for submission. Together with MIH we have tried everything to make the program work but to no avail. Apparently there are bugs in the package that are seriously affecting its functionality. Sage have been notified of these on several occasions but have done nothing to correct them.
Are there any other users out there that have purchased this product and
experiencing similar problems?
As the submission of this information is a legal requirement I would ask
ISTUG to assist in putting pressure on Sage to correct these faults.

We are unable to obtain a Data Dictionary. This would speed up special
report writing much quicker. This is necessary because file names are not
logically named.

Sage – work is being done on a data dictionary as part of the long-term UIG project. No ETA yet.

Are the rumours true that Sage is due to revert back to the user
banded pricing for licences and modules? If so, when? If not, when will the pricing policy next be reviewed?

Currently the price list is being reviewed and a new list will be issued in January to resellers. This list will come into effect on the 1^st April 2003. It is not currently an intention to revert to user banded pricing.

CS/3 v3.0 on NT

We are currently running CS/3 on NT - version 3.0. A year ago we
asked our re-seller regarding upgrading to the latest version of software,
which was Enterprise 2.0. By the time we obtained costs this version had
been replaced by 2.1, which we were advised had "some bugs" and that we
should wait until May / June time. Summer came and went and along came Line500 which we anticipated with interest. Can we now upgrade we asked - no we were told - Sage have not yet released the upgrade tools to the re-sellers, but it is expected early November. As at writing this question (4/12) I understand they have still not been released and are not now "imminent".
Please can you clarify what is the problem, and when can we expect to be able to upgrade and obtain and use the numerous features that Sage have
spent a small fortune creating?

Sage – some clarification required here. Is there bespoke work on this site, which would mean the reseller needs a fresh version of the source code in order to rebuild the bespoke work?

CS/3 (NT) v3.1

Sages Marketing details shows E-procurement under their Web applications. Can Sage explain what this consists of and what their future plans are in this area?
